Van Positivisme naar filosofie
van de Derde Wereld
Joop Vernooij, 1988
From Positivism to Third World philosophy gives the reader insight into what science is: The foundations and procedures, the purpose, and the relation between science and society. Special attention is given to philosophy from a Caribbean and Latin American perspective. This has generally received little attention in most academic and other institutions, while the positivist views imported from Europe and the United States are still dominant in the world. The book also addresses the limitations of the positivist philosophy and the mainstream scientific practices in the Western world.
